Rules and Regulations Governing the Termination of Residential Electric and Natural Gas Service - Docket No. 4098

The Commission has initiated a Negotiated Rulemaking to develop new Termination of Service Rules for electric and gas which would supersede, in their entirety, the current rules (Rules and Regulations Governing the Termination of Residential Electric, Gas and Water Utility Service, effective October 19, 2008). The Commission agreed to develop separate termination of service rules for energy and water services.
Accordingly, the Commission hereby gives Notice of Negotiated Rulemaking and to Establish a Negotiated Rulemaking Committee to commence the process under Rule 1.29 to establish a Negotiated Rulemaking Committee limited to ten (10) members.
The deadline to apply for membership on the negotiated rulemaking committee or to nominate a representative is Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Click on Notice for details.
At op;en meeting held July 15, 2009, the Public Utilities Commission determined has initiated this docket for the hereby gives Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to adopt amended Rules and Regulations Governing the Termination of Residential, Electric, Gas and Water Utility Service. The proposed rules will change the language regarding infant protection to conform with Public Law 08-44 and update Appendix A with the updated Estimated State Median Income for purposes of determining financial hardship.
